The following research explores the relationship between state security organs and the Chinese Community Party (CCP) as well as the mediating role of state security between the CCP and society from 1949 to the present.

The journal Studies in Intelligence was invaluable for finding authors who write about China’s state security services and the role they play in national policy-making. I feel encouraged to continue exploring this subject, as I found there to be much left uncovered.
