Donald Trump: GOP Frontrunner Opposed to Overthrow of Assad

Republican frontrunner and business tycoon Donald Trump has consistently opposed American military intervention abroad where it doesn’t serve the national interest. Having opposed theĀ  Iraq War in fear it would allow outsized Iranian influence in Mesopotamia, Trump is now opposed to arming Islamist militants seeking to topple Assad, cleanse Syria of it’s religious minorities, and setup an Islamist state. As for the Russian influence in Syria? They are fighting Islamists, who hate both the United States and Russia. In this battlefield, Russia and the U.S. are on the same side. Both fear the growth an export of terrorism around the world.
