BREAKING: Turkey Suspends the European Convention on Human Rights

The Deputy Prime Minister has announced Turkey wil suspend the European Union Convention on Human Rights. The decision by the Erdogan Government moves Turkey further away from Europe, and entry into the European Union. The moratorium on the EU convention on HR comes amid a growing crackdown against dissidents, opposition group, and critics of the Erdogan government. Thousands have been arrested, suspended, fired, and put under investigation. The growing list of those under assault include judges, teachers, professors, and officials from the government without close ties to the ruling Justice & Development (AKP) Party.
