Fractured Lands: How the Arab World Came Apart

Historian Scott Anderson, author of Lawrence in Arabia: War, Deceit, Imperial Folly and the Making of the Modern Middle East, wrote in The New York Times this weekend a piece that would occupy, if in print, an entire issue.
